Top notch.

Great.

The staff seemed friendly, but that was the only good thing about our stay. The hotel was filthy and run-down, and we’d never go back. We spent one night there and had booked a Sweet room, which was a decent size. In the evening, we had to walk through a smoky pub to reach the “reception” and get our room key. Smoke from the pub drifted up into the already musty room. The furniture was so battered it seemed ready for the trash, not like a deliberate old-fashioned style with quality pieces. The bed was falling apart, and the sheets had holes. The bathroom looked best at first, but it was filthy, with loose tiles, water splashes on the sink and mirror that surely weren’t from the previous guest, and toilet paper hanging down to the floor. It seemed the linens had only been changed briefly, at least I hope so, and otherwise the place had been left to itself. The next morning we’d booked breakfast for €12.50. There was very little choice, which might have been forgivable, but it was served in the smoking bar, which still stank. The advertised parking spaces were unusable too, because the market was closed off the next morning, apparently every Sunday, and it wasn’t clear if we’d be able to get out. Stay away from this hotel.

Breakfast was good, and the staff were really friendly. The hotel is small and sits right on the market square. It’s a little dated, but still charming, clean, and well looked after. There’s an Irish pub on-site. We’d come back.
