I found it easy to get around from this excellent location, with public transport and restaurants nearby. At B&B Essen City Hotel, the clean, modern rooms were well maintained, and the polite, supportive staff made everything smooth and hassle-free. Breakfast was good and worth the price. A comfortable stay and good value for money.

The registration system didn't work, and they gave someone else the code for my room. Luckily, I was already inside. The receptionist was rude and arrogant, and stayed on the phone throughout our conversation. The worst hotel in all of Germany. I'll never book it again.

After staying here for a few years, I now need to find somewhere better. I don't like unexpected charges. There was an extra tax and a charge for a parking space. Pets also cost extra, which Booking.com mentioned, but it didn't mention the other charges. Everything I used to like about this hotel is gone.

The staff were quite friendly and respectful, and the washrooms were clean. The rooms were average but clean, and the heating didn't work well. Breakfast was also average, with limited options.

The beds were fantastic, and the room was really nice. The location is handy too, with a shopping mall nearby. There’s also a coffee machine in the lobby and some snacks.
