The design was stylish, and the staff were attentive and really polite. We also had a delicious breakfast. Our room was airy, spacious, very clean, and had everything we could need. We spent three days here and everything was wonderful. I'd definitely recommend it.

The gym is on the small side, but it has good equipment. Breakfast was very good too, and the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Andrea and Gaurav. The Marriott Residence Inn Essen shares its building with sister property Moxy Essen City. It's geared toward business stays, on a quiet street a few steps from Essen Hauptbahnhof and close to the city center. The apartments are modern and have the comforts you'd expect, so longer stays should be comfortable.

The room was comfortable and the hotel felt relaxing. Gaurav deserves a special thank you for going out of his way to make us feel welcome and looked after throughout the stay. That kindness and attention really mattered. We had a wonderful time and would gladly come back.

The breakfast selection could use a few more options, though what was offered was reasonable. My room was very clean and spacious, the staff were friendly, and the city tax was low.
