Villa An Der Au

Villa an der Au 1, ground floor, 75m² for 1 to 5 people, was handed over to us in a really friendly way when we arrived. It was clean, with good mattresses, a washing machine for €3, and a dishwasher. The big garden and terrace had sun loungers and seating, plus there was a barbecue. We had everything for a great holiday with children and dogs. 🌞

It was a nice holiday apart from a couple of drawbacks. The balcony was lovely, though it had to be shared with other guests, so there was no privacy. The stairs were steep, which could be awkward for taller or older people.

Villa on the Au fireship, never again. The landlord was unbelievably unfriendly, one of the worst experiences I've had. Dogs were supposedly allowed, but then they complained about dog hair in the house. Well, dogs shed. They'd also comment right away if a garbage bag was left outside the door for even a day. We weren't able to enjoy the accommodation, and having to deal with this issue all the time spoiled the vacation too. Such a shame on a beautiful island.

We couldn't get anyone to answer the phone after making our reservation, and there was no reply at all. With a baby, we had no idea whether we'd actually be able to stay. It was maddening. After complaining to Booking.com and trying to cancel, the owners wanted to charge us for the whole stay. A disaster. We avoided paying for something we never used because they couldn't accept credit cards. Then, two hours after the arrival time we'd already told them about, they emailed to say they were waiting for us at the property. Terrible.
