We had a great time out on the lake. The boat worked as it should, though it could have been cleaner, and renting it was easy. The staff were nice, and the restaurant serves filling German comfort food with a few local fish choices. Good if you're hungry, though it's not the place for a culinary adventure.

The regional feel here was really pleasant, and we even had time for a little chat. We started with a delicious salad, then enjoyed our main courses just as much. We ate here yesterday and would happily return.

At about 7:10 pm on August 9th, the restaurant was open until 10 pm and busy, though not packed. There were two of us, and we wanted to have dinner. They turned us away, saying, "We don't have any more clean dishes." Incredibly bad experience.

The food was the only decent part of our lunch. My venison schnitzel and fries were okay, though they could have used more finesse. The conservatory was filthy, the seats were dirty, and there was dirt and cobwebs in every corner. Two dogs and a cat kept crawling around our legs and begging while we ate. The owner was dressed in clothes so dirty he looked like he had been interrupted while gardening. Never again.

We tried the fried herring and catfish fillet, and both tasted very good. A small salad came with the meal, too. It's a little restaurant with good, very reasonably priced home-style cooking, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
