The food at both breakfast and dinner was fresh and varied, with something for everyone. The location was quiet but still easy to reach, and our room was modern, comfortable, and very clean. The staff were especially friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. We felt really comfortable here and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!

We slept wonderfully in the comfortable beds, and the modern, cozy rooms were quiet, inviting, and thoughtfully equipped. Everything, including the public areas, was spotless, with care given to the details. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful, so we felt welcome right away. The food was a highlight too. Breakfast and dinner were both varied, delicious, fresh, and lovingly prepared, with quality ingredients and a regional focus. The setting is peaceful and beautiful, ideal for walks and relaxing, while still easy to get to. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Forsters Schwarzwald Resort – Hof and will definitely return. We wholeheartedly recommend it.

When reception was staffed, the people there were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was tasty, though expensive. The sauna was good too. But the price and quality are completely out of balance. This might have been a five-star place in the 80s, but the condition and value now are poor. The room was only okay and not very clean. The bed and linens weren't properly attached or especially clean, and some wardrobes were warped enough that the doors were hard to open. The cupboards weren't secured to the wall and tipped when opened. The sink wasn't fixed properly either, and the shower was old. There's no sign showing things like reception or buffet hours, and the desk is almost never staffed. The food costs far too much. Dinner for more than one person can cost as much as a week's groceries, yet it is a youth-hostel-style buffet with just one sauce. That format would be fine at a reasonable price. Breakfast is also pricey, and the cakes are frozen. That might be acceptable if they were handled properly, but not at the rate charged for a night here. The indoor pool wasn't heated and felt like the North Sea, and the exercise equipment looked like garage gear. Most budget hotels offer better value.

The family room is fantastic, and the lunch and dinner buffets are delicious. It's great value for money, and you can see how many details have improved since Emanuel and Louise took over. The little village feels romantic, with a convenient spot near the Bärental valley, between the water park and ski slopes. Perfect for families.
