Ibis Styles Filderstadt Stuttgart Messe

The hotel is decent and clean for a budget stay, and the staff were friendly and competent. The rates seem a bit high for the location, though, and parking is a real challenge. There are only 11 spaces on the property for an estimated 40-50 rooms. It’s in an industrial area with limited public transport, so arriving early is a good idea if you want a spot there. Paid parking is available elsewhere, but I understood that it involves some walking. From my room I had a nice view of a workshop that refurbishes classic cars and agricultural equipment. They had some lovely examples there during my stay.

The breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff were friendly, parking was okay, and the location worked well for me. I also liked that if you skip room cleaning for a day, the hotel donates 5 Eur to a good cause. It can get crowded and a bit expensive during expo season, so book early.

The Wi-Fi and service were very good, and the sauna was okay. The room was clean but poorly equipped, with no glasses or kettle. The light switches were right beside the bed, and I kept turning the lights on by accident at night. It got so annoying that I temporarily took out the bulbs. Breakfast was dull and had a small selection, though it may suit you if you like scrambled eggs.

There’s a small bar open late, with free tea and coffee until 22:00. The included buffet breakfast starts at 05:00 and has a good selection. The bed was comfortable, and my room was clean with a good shower. It’s a pleasant enough place in a quiet area, with three pizza restaurants within walking distance that stay open until 23:00. The train and bus ride from the airport is short.
