Plaza Inn Stuttgart-Filderstadt

We picked this place because we planned to rent a car, but that didn’t work out. A car is really a must in this location. There are around four or five restaurants in the area; we tried the Greek taverna about 25 minutes away and it was amazing. The hotel is old and very basic, so I’m not rating the facilities. The rooms are a decent size, and both the staff and cleanliness were great.

The room was pretty good and clean, but I didn’t feel comfortable overall. It was eerily quiet, and we didn’t see anyone else at the hotel during our two nights. The staff weren’t engaging or helpful, and the only place to eat within walking distance was a MacDonalds. The area felt sketchy for a hotel, and the location was weird. Something just didn’t feel right.

There’s no air conditioning in the room, which is a problem in summer. Breakfast was good, and there were vending machines for snacks and drinks. I’d only recommend staying here in winter.

The staff were the best part for me. The reception girl was especially nice, and everyone helped with my many questions. Breakfast was really nice too, with plenty of options. My room was clean and much nicer than I expected, and the location felt safe with a police station next to the hotel. The price was good, though parking space was limited. I’d definitely recommend it.
