Fritzi's Art Hotel

I travel a lot for work, and this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. At 280 Euros for one night, it felt like a total rip-off. The walls were so thin I could hear the people next door using the toilet and a man on the other side talking on the phone late into the night. None of my three devices could connect to the room WiFi, and the rooms weren't even that nice. When I calmly mentioned these problems to the manager the next morning, he started yelling, jumping around, and pulling his hair out. He acted like a complete child. Totally unbelievable. Zero stars. I'd tell everyone to avoid this place.

I landed after reception had apparently closed, though none of my booking documents mentioned a closing time. Everything was locked up when I got there. I called the after-hours number on the door, and a couple of local residents and bar owners tried calling too, but nobody answered. It was completely unacceptable. I had to find another room at the last minute and pay a ridiculously high price.

I was a bit concerned after reading other people's reviews, but for a one-night stay this was fine. It's a basic hotel near the airport. The rooms aren't new, though they were clean, and breakfast tasted good enough. If you don't have high expectations, it's a reasonable choice.

The guy at reception was really friendly, and for one night the room was okay. Still, 98 euros for such a tiny room feels like a robbery. I'd rather have fewer art pieces and some basic things, like a bedside table and lamp, WiFi in the room instead of only at reception, and a normal-sized sink. My room was on the first floor, but the WiFi still only worked at reception. This wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed at in Stuttgart, but probably the second worst. I won't come back if I can avoid it.
