During our tour of Europe, family members took us to the Gasthaus restaurant for dinner one evening. We’d already been in Germany for a few days and had tried some traditional meals, but Gasthaus was our favorite. We sat in a corner booth in a centuries-old Bavarian inn, with personal service and delightful food. We had schnitzel, potato salad, liver, drinks, and more. The atmosphere was perfect and prices were fair. I plan to come back on future trips to Germany.

I’ve eaten here on holiday several years running and always liked the food and service. It’s in a nice spot and the food is good, but this year our server came across as confrontational and was so unfriendly that I hated asking her for anything. When I still decided to tip, I told her an amount to add. She put in a higher amount, and by then I didn’t want to deal with her any more, so I just ran my card. I know good staff can be hard to find these days, but adding extra to a tip is completely unprofessional.

We had dinner at the restaurant and were very satisfied. I had the Krustenbraten with dumplings and cabbage, along with a local beer. It tasted really good.

It depends what you’re looking for. I went for dinner and left hungry after spending 20EUR, and they asked for a tip right away. But if you just want a drink and to show up, it’s a pretty nice place.

We found this place at the last minute. A tip: don’t leave hotel bookings too late, since many nearby places close by 6:00. The rooms were small but comfortable, and the staff were really friendly. The hamburger was probably the worst thing we ate on the whole trip, so avoid it. Aside from that, I’d stay here again and recommend it.
