Hotel am Mühlbach

We were worried our delayed train would make us late for dinner and leave us no time to freshen up, but Viaceslav picked us up at the station and his wife took us straight to our room. We were able to get ready and reach the dining room just as service was starting. They also prepared a vegetarian main course after I emailed ahead. Breakfast was hearty, and the packed lunches were really convenient. Hotel am Mühlbach is a lovely base for exploring the Black Forest, with kind, accommodating hosts. The town is quiet and dark, and close to hikes and the train station. There aren’t many restaurant choices, so I definitely recommend having dinner at the hotel. Highly recommend!

We arrived early, and the Kuznecov family made us feel at home right away. They even set aside a special place for our motorcycle. The room was spacious, spotless, well cared for, and had a lovely balcony; the bedding was especially cozy and comfortable. The area is beautiful, with lots of outdoor activities. Meals were fresh and made with care: we had a delicious three-course dinner with a yummy cream-filled cake, and a bountiful breakfast. We’ll return when we’re next in the area. We’ve been returning to Hotel am Mühlbach for more than three decades, and it holds a special place in our hearts. The hosts are welcoming and clearly prioritize comfort and customer service. Our room opened onto a terrace beside the backyard, where we could hear the comforting sound of the Mühlbach. We had two three-course dinners, both exceptional and made with local products. There’s plenty of parking at the hotel. We’ll definitely come back!

The location is handy for extraordinary hiking trails, and Baden Baden is only a 30-minute drive away if you’re after some culture. Right beside the house, a tiny river adds a lovely sound to breakfast, which is carefully prepared. The rooms are sparkling clean, with tasteful details, and from the moment you arrive you feel looked after. Maybe it’s because this is a family-run place that’s clearly loved by the family. It’s one of those hotels that’s hard to rate below excellent. Highly recommended, enjoy your stay!
