The rooms were spacious and clean, with a large parking area at the hotel. Breakfast was very good and set us up well for the workday, and in the evening it was a handy starting point for hiking in the mountains. The train station is a quick walk away, less than 1 km. I was on the jury for the Bavarian State Photo Exhibition organized by the Sonneberg Photo Club, and we needed accommodations with six single rooms. Arranging things with the landlady was easy since we’d already met for dinner at the "Kesselhaus" in Sonneberg. I could also collect keys for some of the other guests in advance. For dinner, we went to the "Augustenthal" restaurant on the outskirts of Hämmern, where the regional food impressed us. The next morning we visited the Toy Museum in Sonnerberg, which we should have allowed about two hours for.

We only stayed one night, but were completely satisfied and would keep this hotel in mind for another visit to the area. The building is showing its age, though it’s in a quiet spot. The rooms are plain but very tidy and clean, with balconies, and the service was friendly and readily available. There’s a pleasant breakfast room, plus a lobby refrigerator with drinks that guests can access 24/7.

The view of Mühlberg mountain is spectacular, and the owner’s warmth and attentiveness made me feel welcome and well looked after right away. The Mühlbergblick Hotel was exceptionally clean, with spotless rooms that had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The service was excellent too. It has everything you could want for a relaxing stay, and I’d highly recommend it.

We’d definitely love to return to Hotel Mühlbergblick. The owner was friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was generous and reasonably priced. Our cozy room was very clean and looked out onto the lovely wooded slopes opposite. We felt completely at home.

About 600 meters away, there’s a village inn serving excellent traditional food at very reasonable prices. I only saw the village after dark, but it looked spotless and well maintained, right at the edge of the southern Thuringian Forest. The hotel itself is very clean, with spacious rooms, and the welcome at reception was exceptionally friendly. I felt at ease straight away. It’s well worth a visit, even for a leisure trip.
