Hotel Lumière an der Messe

I had one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Even with the do not disturb sign on my door, a random guest came into my room. It wasn't hotel staff, and it left me feeling that anyone could enter and my belongings weren't safe there. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially to women traveling alone, since the neighborhood didn't feel safe either.

We never even made it to the room. After a terrible arrival experience, we decided to stay somewhere else, so I can't comment on the rooms. We were coming by car for the Frankfurt exhibition and had called two days ahead to reserve parking. The receptionist wasn't very customer-oriented, but did reserve a space and confirm it. On arrival, an extremely unfriendly and uncooperative woman said she knew nothing about our Booking.com reservation number or any parking space. She offered no help finding a solution and was disrespectful. When we showed her the earlier messages, she shrugged and asked what she was supposed to do, then left us there. We couldn't check in until 3 p.m. and couldn't leave our bags either. I've never had service like this anywhere. The location is fairly close to the exhibition, but the area was full of homeless people and addicts and felt almost dangerous. I hope this helps keep someone else's trip from being ruined. The service was awful, and I urge people to find another hotel.

I was there for four days. The bed wasn't clean, and both the bathroom ceiling and the sink had leaks. There was also a broken fridge. The room itself wasn't very good for the price, and the hallway smelled awful.

We never stayed at the hotel or used any of its services, and the property later cancelled the booking itself after 20 November 2025. Still, a large amount was charged without an OTP or 3D Secure check. The payment went through using stored card details, and we never got an authentication request or confirmation message. We've sent repeated emails and messages to Booking.com Amsterdam and Hotel Lumière an der Messe about the booking made through Booking.com, Booking ID: 6213679324, but neither has cooperated or issued a refund. We ask the management of Hotel Lumière an der Messe and Booking.com Amsterdam to review this and process the refund promptly. We are extremely disappointed that the charge was made without proper authorization.
