The Doorman Die Welle

Right in the middle of Frankfurt, with lots of restaurants and shops close by and everything easy to reach on foot. The apartment is really spacious and has everything you need to feel at home. I had a cosy morning in and used the kitchen to make breakfast before the busy day began. I’ll definitely book again.

Think of this as an apartment more than a hotel. The rooms are very clean, the neighborhood is calm and quiet, and the beds are cosy with a nice choice of pillows. You’re close to the main streets while still in a safe area, though avoid the train station at all costs. There’s a daily cleaning service, someone at the front desk, and maintenance staff around. If you need something, the staff are happy to help with things like restaurant bookings. Breakfast is quite small, but the apartments have fully equipped kitchens, so you can make your own food. The free croissants are a nice bonus. The main downside for us was the lack of proper blinds. We’re used to sleeping in total darkness, and so much light came through that it felt like sleeping with the window open. I understand it may be a cultural thing, and next time I’ll bring an eye mask. It was a nice stay, and I’d recommend it for a night or a few weeks if you want to be independent. If you’re after a cosier, hotel-like place, this may not be the right fit, and no shade to the Doorman!

The receptionist was kind and helpful. When car trouble forced us to stay an extra night, we were able to keep the same room. We had a clean junior suite for one night, with everything we needed, from a microwave to an oven. The beds were a bit hard, though no different from beds in other German hotels. It’s an apartment complex, so there’s no breakfast, but coffee, tea, and a small snack at reception were very convenient. The hotel is in the heart of the city, and you can walk to the centre. I wouldn’t mind staying here again.

Dao and Michaela at reception were both wonderful and professional. They made my seven-week stay unforgettable and excellent in every way. The place, location, cleaning service, and everything else I needed were just amazing. One of the best stays of my life. I’d give this place and its staff a 100-star rating.
