The location is pretty good, about a 10-minute walk to Zeil street and Sixt car rental, with an Italian restaurant and a kebab place downstairs. I also saw a few homeless people, and there’s no parking. It’s not a bad place to stay, but you get what you pay for. After three nights, I’d probably only stay here for an early flight, and otherwise no more than two nights. The rooms are nice, clean, and modern, with a kitchen, though a bit small for three people. Towels, coffee, and bed making cost an extra £35 euros per day. One night there was no hot water from the tap, and the big heaters sometimes didn’t work. The walls are thin, so I could hear the neighbor at times. The hotel facilities were reasonable, the seating area was comfortable but could get crowded, and the lifts were pretty bad, old and jerking violently at each floor. The lift mirror was broken, with sharp glass sticking out. Check-in is entirely online. Their WhatsApp chat responds quickly, but the staff felt quite stiff. There’s no late checkout or luggage storage after checkout, so we sat in the lobby from 1100 to 1600 waiting for our flight. I saw three other groups doing the same.

The bathroom was in good shape and the room was clean overall, though the floors felt sticky and could use a better clean. The foyer and bathrooms smelled of cigarettes even though smoking wasn’t allowed. It’s also close enough to the Messe.

I booked a family room with two beds for myself and my teenage son, but only one bed was there. When I called, they said they’d assumed two travelers would share. Getting the room number was a hassle too, since it never appeared in the app and I had to phone for it. The TV didn’t work, and doors kept slamming. The noise was relentless: the rooms have no soundproofing, so you hear people next door, above and below, and I even had to ask the next-door guests to turn down their TV. I gave up and booked at the hyatt at the airport to get some sleep. I made the mistake of staying one night here and won’t do it again. Unless you have good ear defenders and can sleep through what sounds like a building site, I’d avoid it.

The rooms are tidy and have plenty of amenities, and the hotel is quiet and close to transport and shopping. But there’s hardly any space, so I wouldn’t choose it for a family with small kids. The bunk bed is very high, the sofa bed has lots of sharp edges, and there’s no room to walk around. On top of that, every movement makes the beds sound like they’re dying. It was the squeakiest bed I’ve ever slept on. I’d book only if being near the shopping street is essential, or for a short stay.

People talking in the common area three rooms away sounded as if they were right beside my head, and it went on all night. The walls seem paper thin, so getting any sleep is hard. I can’t recommend staying here unless you have very good notice cancelling or don’t care much about sleep.
