Ferienwohnung Hauptmann

We only got to stay for two days, unfortunately. The apartment is cozy and spotless, and the landlords were very friendly. It’s in a lovely spot at the edge of town, almost right on the Rennsteig hiking trail. Parking is behind the house, beside the apartment entrance. The kitchen area is quite small, but has everything needed apart from a dishwasher, which simply wouldn’t have fit properly.

We’ve stayed here many times and always enjoy coming back. The Hauptmann family, both of them, are warm and welcoming, and always make sure guests are comfortable. The apartment is practical, tastefully decorated, and very well equipped, with nice changes and improvements to enjoy on return visits. Frauenwald is a lovely place to relax, feel good, and find peace and quiet. The forest, with both conifers and deciduous trees, is mostly deserted and perfect for forest bathing. If you take to it, you can feel the benefits after a short while. Many hiking destinations are easy to reach on foot, by bike, or by car. After our latest visit, we can only praise the rental and its owners. It’s worth visiting in any season, and the consistently high occupancy speaks to its exceptionally high quality.

The hosts were super friendly, and it was fun to meet people who share our geocaching hobby. They also gave us an insider tip for an excellent dinner. The apartment is cute, very clean, quiet, and has everything you need, plus a lovely terrace and pool. Sadly, because of the season, the pool water had chunks of ice in it, but it must be a dream in summer. We’re thrilled!

Friendly service and spotless cleanliness make this a great place to stay for travelers and workers. I highly recommend it.
