Alleehaus

We could walk from the Alleehaus to all the main sights, the university, and even the Schlossberg / Schlossberg tram. My 17-year-old daughter and I stayed for two nights and had a great time. It's a lovely turn-of-the-century villa on a tree-lined street, full of historic charm, from the curved staircase and gorgeous chandelier to the two peaceful breakfast rooms. Our second-floor room had two single beds and a big window looking onto the tree-filled front yard. The bathroom was small but worked fine. Breakfast was beautiful, and we liked that it was served until 10. The front desk staff were so friendly and helped us find nearby laundromats and post offices. There is no elevator, so hauling our bags up to the second floor was quite a workout. We loved the historic feel and location, and would stay again.

I came from Korea for my Aufnahmeprüfung. The floorboards sounded old, but all the staff were so kind and always greeted me cheerfully. The room had everything I needed, and the restroom was super clean. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the price was good too. I had a really big suitcase and had unfortunately booked the smallest room, but I could still open it. The location is good, and I loved the hotel's atmosphere. I'd recommend it and hope to come back someday with my friends.

It's about a 15-minute walk from the main station, or three tram stops, and right at the edge of the city center. This superb old hotel is set in an upper-class villa, full of original artwork and homely details, the sort of place people might call a boutique hotel now. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Some rooms don't have en-suite bathrooms, but everything was kept spotless.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, and they serve a really good breakfast. The host was cheerful and friendly. It's well placed for walking to the old town, and private parking is available for a fee.
