We found the hotel comfortable, with nice beds and a good bathroom and shower. Breakfast was great each morning, with plenty of choices even when it got busy. The hallway carpets, though, were dirty and stained. The front desk staff were especially friendly and helpful. At night, just one person, or two at most, covered both reception and the bar. They seemed stretched, but stayed calm and gave great service. The owners should provide them with more help so they can serve guests better. Getting around was easy. The hotel is a short tram ride and walk from the city, and a day ticket for Freiburg is very inexpensive. We enjoyed our three nights while visiting Freiburg. Thanks to the staff for being so friendly, helpful, and efficient. The owners need to give their people more support.

A mixed bag. The gym was decent and the bed was okay, but the food was only okay at best. There’s a great cafe across the road, though. The room’s A/C didn’t work, and the hotel did nothing after I complained. Every so often the bathroom smelled awful, like sewage. It didn’t live up to the rest of beautiful Freiburg.

A quiet, decent hotel with a clean room, friendly staff, and a decent breakfast. The one thing that wasn’t right was the bathroom tap: even when turned to cold, it gave hot water.

The hotel promised me a refund in writing, but I still haven’t received anything. Before that, my family had a frightening night. Strangers nearly entered my wife’s room in the middle of the night while my children were with her. She was terrified and couldn’t sleep for the rest of the night. No one answered the phone, and there was no help or security. With so many guests, only one person was on duty. There seemed to be no backup or safety measures. That’s completely unacceptable. First we had a ruined night and no sense of safety, and now the promise has been broken. If you care about your family’s safety, peace of mind, or even basic honesty from management, stay away.

As a Gold member, I got an upgrade to a comfortable room, and breakfast had lots of tasty options. The location is pretty decent too. Downtown and the Munster area are a long walk, but doable. Schlossberg took around 45 minutes on foot, and I took the tram back to the hotel.
