INVITE Hotel Löwen Freiburg

There’s plenty of parking, including a garage, and the hotel is right by a bus stop, so it’s easy to explore Freiburg without a car. It’s a lovely traditional place with spacious rooms that are cleaned daily. The TV, fridge, and furniture are quite old and could use renovation. Breakfast is available, but I didn’t try it because the vegetarian choices seemed limited. A comfortable, welcoming stay, though some updates are due.

The reception guy was really friendly and nice, and our room was clean and quiet. The hotel is a bit outside the city center, but public transport is super convenient, with a bus stop right in front. We had a wonderful stay.

The best part of the stay was leaving. We’d booked what was meant to be a cosy anniversary weekend, but our room didn’t have the balcony or bathtub that the booking clearly listed. When we raised it, the staff blamed us instead of apologizing or trying to help. The room was old and outdated, the fridge was mouldy, and the indoor breakfast area had heaps of ants. Parking was free but extremely cramped. Breakfast was decent, as long as ants weren’t crawling on you. We were very disappointed and won’t return.
