The bedding could be better, especially the pillow, mattress, and blanket. Otherwise, we had a pleasant stay. The rooms are large and comfortable, and there's a microwave in the pantry kitchen. Breakfast was very good, with fresh butter, and the breakfast service was very good too. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It's a pleasant walk from the main station, and good bus connections are available from there if you're carrying luggage. I highly recommend staying here.

The Maultaschen and Rosti special were both made from scratch, so we waited a little, but they were tasty and generous portions. Five stars for the food. We stopped in Freudenstadt for a walk and a meal, and found Hotel Gasthof Jagerstuble on the central square, with outdoor seating as well as tables inside. The toilets were spotless and free to use. Everyone was friendly and very patient with my schoolgirl German.

We were travelling into the Black Forest as a family of three and made a stop in town. The room was spacious and comfortable, and parking behind the hotel was included in our stay. A pleasant woman checked us in and went over details like the breakfast hours.

The salads were simple but tasty, just what we wanted. I had chicken and my husband had ham, and we also enjoyed a couple of drinks and a good cappuccino. It was a little pricey for the food, though being right on the central market is probably part of what you pay for. Service was friendly, and the toilets were very clean.

We only stopped for lunch, but the food was so wonderful that we scrapped the rest of our day's plans. The small town square is beautiful too.
