We had a surprisingly good stay. The food in the restaurant was great, and you can tell how much care and attention this family puts into running the hotel. It’s really well managed. Five stars from me.

After a day driving from Belgium toward the Dolomites in Italy, Gasthaus Amboss was a welcome place to stop. The countryside is quiet and the view is lovely, with a supermarket within walking distance. Everyone on staff was friendly. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious, but it’s popular, so reserve a table. Breakfast was another highlight, with warm bread, fruit, yoghurt and eggs. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

The front desk lady was very kind and helpful, and the rooms look modern and nice. The bathroom could have been cleaner. We booked a double room for two people but paid for three, and even after I asked, we only got two towels. I’d still recommend the hotel, just check that you’re getting what you paid for.

There’s even a small playground for kids, and Ravensburg is close by. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the restaurant serves very good food. It’s a nice place to stay and good value for the price, which is why I’m giving it five stars.
