EuroHotel Friedberg

You can hear traffic from the big road nearby, and there’s no AC in the room. Apart from that, things were good, and I’d recommend it.

The room was roomy and very clean, and the bathroom was spotless too. The shower worked well. There weren’t any facilities for making tea or coffee, though. I also liked the automated setup at the entrance. Since there isn’t front desk staff around the clock, you can arrive late without a reservation, pick a room, and pay at the computer by the front door. Brilliant idea.

The room reached 28 degrees because the air conditioning wasn’t working, so we had a terrible night. When we told reception, they said it had been out across the whole hotel for weeks. Since it was the weekend, we were told the hotel manager would get in touch later that week, but nobody did.

The room and the receptionist get my three stars. The receptionist was lovely and patient, but breakfast staff seemed unfriendly. They didn’t greet us or smile, and I felt unwelcome. A simple hello would make a difference, especially in a service job.
