Gästehaus Carstens

Unbelievable. We got the booking confirmation by email back in June, but when four of us arrived today, we were told there was only room for two. Apparently they couldn’t find the email and had no other contact information. Absolutely awful.

We felt completely at home during our three days with the friendly Carstens family. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, including a safe. They changed the towels every day, and we could use the garden, beach chair, seating area, and garden shed. The breakfast gets called simple with limited choice by some people, but for two there were four different rolls, two other kinds of bread, two jams, honey, three cold cuts, two cheeses, herb quark, eggs, two juices, plus coffee and tea free all day. What more could you want?! If you expect salmon and Prosecco, a Holiday Inn might be more your thing than a private guesthouse with just two rooms. We’d love to come back!

The location was convenient, and it was quiet and clean. There was even a safe in the closet. The landlady was very friendly, and breakfast was delicious, though a little fruit would have been nice. A very cozy vacation apartment, highly recommended.

Everything else was very good. Ms. Carstens couldn’t help the bad weather or the muddy construction site near the house, but the accommodation’s online description wasn’t entirely accurate.
