The rooms are roomy and spotless, and although breakfast is simple, it's put together with care. What made the stay especially lovely was how attentive everyone was. Guillermo suggested interesting places to see and routes to take, booked us a table at some of the area's most characteristic restaurants, and even brought out traditional bread and local cheeses one evening when it was late and we couldn't find anywhere to eat. When we arrived, we were surprised to receive a voucher for free public transport for our whole stay, covering trains and buses but not the funicular. Heidi Schmid and Guillermo Lopez run this beautiful, sunny property on Sommerberg, the hill above Bad Wildbad, with a real feel for hospitality. It's a quiet B&B surrounded by nature, close to the elegant, extraordinary thermal baths, fir forest walks, Germany's longest suspension bridge, and the famous treetop trail. Baden Baden, Karlsruhe, and Stuttgart are among the better known, busier places within reach. And don't miss Calw, about a ten-minute drive away, where Hermann Hesse was born. The town also has the ruins of the fascinating abandoned Klosterruine Hirsau. Highly recommended!
