Hotel Reich an der Rems

At breakfast, we were literally told to leave at 9.30, even though we still had coffee and food and hadn't finished. It felt like the hotel guests were in the way because a buffet was being set up for restaurant guests. Breakfast is from 7.30 - 9.30. The place felt cold and unwelcoming from the start. We were greeted by an envelope at reception, and although our room was clean, it felt bare and cold in atmosphere, with only the minimum provided. It's between a noisy street, a river, which is nice, and a small wastewater plant. The room was a little old-fashioned and had no charm at all. They say it's a 4-star hotel, but everyone in our group wondered about that. I still stand by what I said earlier: I wouldn't recommend it, except perhaps for a business trip.

We stayed in the apartments, where the rooms were clean and large. We'd been told six people could stay and that extra beds would be added, but two of us wound up sleeping on the couch without sheets or proper blankets. There was no staff around when we arrived. The hotel location is easy to reach, but just as ugly.

The attached restaurant has great food, and the rooms are good. Parking and electric charging stations are available too. If there were a decent gym, this would be a five-star stay.

The people here were helpful and friendly, and I felt welcome. The rooms are comfortable, and I'd ask for one at the back, the Riverside.
