Hotel Krone

The restaurant food is really tasty, and the staff are friendly. The rooms have rather extravagant décor, but they're clean when I get back in the evening. My bathroom shower only partly worked, with more water coming from the top than the shower head. Breakfast is a bit sad, and there's no English breakfast for people who want one. I'm not a big breakfast eater, though. It's an acceptable hotel, with a more than fair price for the service, and I can recommend it.

We got to the room and found the window open with the central heating off. It was freezing, and the whole thing felt like a bit of a nightmare. We called three times to say we were running late, but nobody answered. We reached the hotel before reception closed at 22h and asked if we could get something to eat in the restaurant. They said, "no way." We had to go to the hotel on the other corner, where they were much more understanding and gave us a meal even though their kitchen was closed too.

The rooms are small but nice, and everything looks freshly renovated. The place has its own style and a good kitchen, though breakfast doesn't have much variety. There's a small parking lot for cars. It was extremely hot during my visit, and there was no AC in the rooms. Opening the window didn't help much. Mine faced the street, so with the hotel close to the road I could hear every car, from small ones to trucks, and found it hard to sleep.

The décor is old, but the place was extremely clean, everything worked, and the shower was excellent. A cheap place to crash and rest comfortably after a full day at Europa park.
