Aktiv Hotel Schweiger

It was an easy walk into central Füssen, and the castles were a short drive away. The hotel also gave us a free bus pass and had parking. Finding the place was a little tricky, and paperwork took a while and felt a bit 20th century. They added another tax when I arrived, as others have mentioned. The hotel was in a quiet part of town, except that someone had their TV turned all the way up every night I was there, which was very annoying. Breakfast was included with a variety of items. I never saw the bar open, but there was an honor bar if you were willing to pay typical high hotel prices for snacks and drinks. The staff were friendly and nice. It’s worth considering if you’re in the area.

The location in Füssen was more inconvenient than we expected, with a 15-20 minute uphill hike to the hotel, and Uber doesn’t work here. It felt really overpriced for what it was, with very few amenities. The front desk seemed bothered and confused about why you were there, and asking for help came across as if you were being offensive. The breakfast buffet cost far too much for cold food and such a limited selection. I know this is a small area without many hotels, but I’d look elsewhere.

We stayed over a long weekend, and the team were friendly throughout. On request, they put a baby bed in our room. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were good, and everything was clean. Tourist attractions were within walking distance. Breakfast was a good buffet, with coffee at the table, juice, eggs, scrambled eggs, and different breads and hams. Cappuccino and hot chocolate were available to order too. Highly recommend!

We had a really enjoyable stay in Fussen at the Activ Hotel Schweiger. The rooms were spacious and nice, and all the staff were friendly. We’ll visit again!
