The price was nowhere near what I expected. On top of the quoted amount, they said I had to pay €3 in city tax and another €3.50 for club membership, even though I didn't need it. That brought the cost to about €48 for one bed. I also tried to cancel because Booking.com said cancellation was free anytime, but they told me that wasn't possible either. Getting there wasn't pleasant, with no bus to the hostel even at 8, and the route felt a bit scary. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. It would be better to take the train back to München and rent a similar place for half the price.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was great. Still, after the night we had, I'm seriously thinking about cancelling our membership. A group kept having a loud get-together in the garden until 1 a.m. I reminded them at midnight that the usual quiet time was 10 p.m., but the noise started up again in a room beside ours from 3:30 to 4:30. The bunk beds also creaked with every tiny movement. Our room was tiny, with three bunk beds and no private bathroom, yet it cost €238 for four people. The men's showers were a long way from the room and had nowhere to hang clothes or towels. I spoke with the kind, understanding woman at reception the next morning. I didn't ask for compensation, but expected she might offer something, and she didn't. The parking area could use marked spaces. That might make up for some guests' poor parking and allow at least two more cars to fit.

The evening receptionist made check-in really easy and kindly walked me through the city and bus maps, pointing out the main sights along with bus routes and times. I was very impressed by how helpful she was. The place was clean and hygienic, and breakfast was fresh, tasty, and filling.

Paying €100-200 for one night, as our school made us do, didn't feel worthwhile. The place also felt dull while I was there, and the Wi-Fi didn't reach our sleeping area. My first impression wasn't great either, since I had to wait outside for a long time. Could have been better. Two stars.
