Maritim Hotel am Schlossgarten Fulda

The breakfast is worth ordering, especially for the quality and the stunning Orangerie where it’s served. The mattresses are really good too. We liked the hotel enough to extend our stay, and after months traveling around Germany, I think it offers the best value for money. The TV is outdated, though we didn’t use it. One downside is that smoke from someone smoking on the neighboring balcony gets into your room.

Breakfast had plenty of choice, and I loved the mini pancakes. As a vegetarian, there wasn’t much to balance out the boiled, fried, and scrambled eggs, though. Hash browns with the eggs would have been nice, and it felt a bit too egg-heavy. The shampoo wasn’t great, and conditioner would have been a welcome addition. My partner and I stayed for three days, from 3rd to 6th Dec, in room E17 on the ground floor. It was lovely and peaceful, and the hotel and Fulda town were absolutely beautiful. The place was very clean, and the bedding was good quality. My partner had been here before on business and had described it well. We’ll definitely come back. The only problem was leaving, I didn’t want to go home. Thank you for a lovely time there, what a beautiful place x

The breakfasts were charged at checkout even though we checked twice and were twice told they were included. I’m not sure where the communication broke down, but it did leave a mildly sour note at the end of our stay. The old hotel is beautiful, though it may be getting close to needing a refresh. Breakfast in the magnificent Orangerie made the stay feel extra special.

The rooms were warm and clean, with double pillows. The people were kind, and it’s very dog friendly. The food was good too.
