Hotel Am Schloss

The old style and decor give this little hotel in Fulda a lovely feel, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout my two-day work trip. I felt welcome as soon as I arrived. It's only a few minutes from the town centre, among cobbled streets, beautiful buildings, history, and stunning views. I'd happily stay again.

The location was a real plus, and the hot shower was nice. Breakfast is included, which is a thoughtful touch, but both my German companion and I found it lousy. It was just rolls, cold cuts, and cheese. The place was clean, cozy, and inexpensive, though room 307 was incredibly small for two people. Fine for one night, but I wouldn't choose it for a longer stay. The walls are thin, so it can get noisy.

The rooms were cozy, and the hotel stayed very clean. Breakfast was really good too. My only issue was room 309, next to the smokers' balcony. There's no AC, so leaving the window open was the only option, and cigarette smell got into the room. If that bothers you, avoid that room. Otherwise, I liked the place and would recommend it. Fulda was amazing.

The internet was buggy, and there was no laundry service. The room and bathroom were really small, with hardly anywhere to put your things. The rooms aren't well insulated either, so a busy hotel can mean plenty of noise.
