Stellaris Apartment Hotel

The repeated power cuts on my floor were a real problem. Whenever I plugged in the kettle, the whole corridor lost power. Other guests were reporting the same thing at reception. An evening staff member, whose name I unfortunately don’t remember, came up to the 6th floor twice to reset it and was very helpful. The kettles seem to be the cause, so replacing them would help prevent more disruptions. On the positive side, Stellaris Apartment Hotel is right in front of the Garching-Forschungszentrum metro station and is especially convenient for visiting TUM. Staff were warm and helpful throughout, particularly Ms. Renata, who assisted me during my stay and kindly arranged a late check-out when I asked. My room had a kitchenette, though I had to collect the pans, plates, and other equipment from reception. Once I had them, it was handy for simple meals. Breakfast was decent, and it was available until 11:00 on weekends. A practical place to stay with standout staff, though the kettle-related electrical issue needs attention.

The room was quite large and had a kitchen, a refrigeration box, and a microwave, but no plates, forks, or pans, which was odd. I ended up just boiling water. Breakfast was poor, though the service was welcoming and good. It’s near the metro but far from groceries. For the price and comfort, it’s acceptable, though there may be better options.

I was here for 10 nights for work. It’s a clean, nice, new place, and airline crews stay here too. But there were parties outside with loud music, and on about half the days, hotel staff drilled into the wall at 7:45am. That was terrible, and they never fixed it. Breakfast was very minimal.

For a conference at TUM’s research center, this hotel worked well, and the train station is just downstairs for getting into central Munich. My single room was very small, as expected, but it had what I needed for a short business trip. The bathroom felt spacious in comparison. There’s also a washing and ironing room, and the irons are professional standard, so getting everything pressed took only a few minutes. The kitchenette was useful, but I had to ask reception for cutlery and other utensils since they aren’t supplied in every room. Breakfast was simple with both lighter and heavier choices. Most staff were friendly, though one woman seemed rude when guests raised an issue and came across as too commanding. My colleagues at the same conference noticed this too. Overall, a nice option for a work trip.
