We had a junior suite with a balcony, looking toward the old Olympic ski jump, the ski runs, and the Zugspitze. There was plenty of room, including in the shower room. The hotel gasthof sits in the centre of old Garmisch, within walking distance of shops and the railway station. Breakfast had lots of options. You can eat other meals outside on the square or in the characterful dining room, and the staff were genuinely helpful and friendly. There's no air conditioning, so a bedroom fan would be welcome on very hot days.

The outdoor dining space had a lively feel, and our server was really friendly. We enjoyed traditional Bavarian food here, and the meal made for a fun restaurant visit.

The portions are generous and the service was remarkably quick. It's local food, so don't expect fine dining, but it tastes good.

It was a really clean room that felt new, and breakfast was great. It just wasn't quiet: noise came from the windows facing the square and from the neighbor upstairs. Hopefully you get a room that isn't under an elephant stampede.

The rooms are nicely appointed, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was excellent, and the old town location is excellent too. Free parking was a welcome bonus. Sound insulation between floors could use improvement.
