Hotel Schöne Aussicht Garni

The staff were friendly, and breakfast was good. The rooms are vintage and clean, but the best part is the view: from the room you can see the Alps and Zugspitze.

The free parking and excellent shower pressure were the only things I liked. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Finding the place was confusing because the name on the hotel front didn't match the online listing. Once we arrived, it took 45 minutes to find someone to check us in. The staff, seemingly just two men, were hard to find most of the time. After dark they sat outside talking loudly while guests were trying to sleep, and I could hear them until about 1:30 a.m. Our room was small, with a window just a couple of feet from the road, so passersby could look right in. Cars went by roughly 8 feet from our heads. My pillow was the sorriest excuse for one I've ever seen, like a couple of old rags stuffed into a pillowcase. We were traveling and stayed only one night.

Insane! They refused to hold my luggage until 4 p.m. They don't pick up the phone, and the people working there are a nightmare. There are 1000 nicer places in Garmisch where they treat you properly and offer a Bavarian lifestyle. These people are no true Bavarians!

The location was a problem too, since getting there meant climbing a long, steep route that was exhausting with luggage. Breakfast was listed in our booking, but when we arrived we were told it wasn't available. The front desk was unfriendly and dismissive at both check-in and check-out, making us feel like a burden. The room was stuffy without proper ventilation, and the toilet was blocked. It looked nothing like the photos online, and at check-in we were suddenly asked to pay extra charges that hadn't been mentioned. One of the most frustrating stays I've had. If honesty, basic comfort, and respectful service matter to you, I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
