It was fairly clean, though there was some dark hair on the bed, and the bathroom was fine. Getting the keys when we arrived was a bit confusing. The light flickered, so we used the bedside lamps, which made the room feel cozy. The real problem was the noise all night, constant banging and yelling outside from what might have been construction. It kept my boyfriend awake. Noise inside the hotel started around 6:30, so light sleepers may want to reconsider. We haven’t tried breakfast yet since it’s still too early, so I can’t rate it. Otherwise, it was fine.

The buffet breakfast at the restaurant had everything we needed, though we were on the road and didn’t get to eat there in the evening. Service was sublime, with staff checking each day whether everything was to our liking. They speak German, English, Dutch, and Italian. The small hotel has a lovely Italian ambiance and a restaurant, and it’s an easy drive to local highlights like Movie Park Germany, Oberhausen, and Dortmund. I’d very much recommend it if you want a nice place to stay that isn’t too expensive. I recommend coming by car.

The restaurant was even better than the clean, cozy room. It was a menu night, but the staff still found us a table. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, cheaper than many bad restaurants in Germany. The service was probably the best part. The waiters really knew how to treat customers. I worked in restaurants for over ten years, and I can only recommend this place. Excellent.

We hadn’t booked ahead, but the manager still found us a table. I’d recommend reserving before you go. The staff were lovely, and we both enjoyed our meals: I had the steak and my friend had the pizza. Everything was delicious. I’ll definitely come back and try the pasta next time.

The center is an easy walk away, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We had a great room and a really comfortable bed, and the manager was super friendly and helpful. It was a little warm up on the top floor when the sun was out, though nothing too bad. The windows had been left slightly open to help cool the room.
