The beetroot and eggplant starter was so good I wanted more, and the juicy mushroom with potato croquettes reminded me of vada. I also liked the asparagus with the spinach pasta. Kristina looked after us attentively, and the chef sent out a complimentary dessert. The food pairings felt creative, and even the tomato butter with bread was delicious. It’s a welcoming setting for families or a meal on your own.

We liked the hotel enough to add another night. Our air-conditioned suite was spacious and clean, and the hotel had lovely amenities. Breakfast offered plenty of choice and was very good. The spa was a great place to unwind, with a heated pool, jacuzzi, and saunas. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and I’d happily stay again.

The breakfast was a highlight for me, with a lovely fresh selection, though starting at 8 was tough for an early riser. We also had dinner at the fine dining restaurant, and my husband’s meal may have been his favorite of the whole trip. Cocotte, the sister restaurant, felt more laid-back and served delicious food. Around Die Reichsstadt, Gengenbach was easy to explore on foot and close to the train. The staff were great, always happy to offer suggestions or help us get what we needed. We really loved our stay and would recommend the hotel to others visiting the area.

We had two memorable dinners, one at the hotel restaurant and one at its sister spot next door. The hotel’s food and breakfast buffet were amazing, and we had one of our best meals in Germany here. This family-run hotel is in a perfect location, and the team made us feel welcome with thoughtful, attentive service. Thanks to everyone for making the stay so special.

The village center location, surrounded by the Black Forest, makes this a lovely spot for a romantic or business getaway. There are two restaurants with great food and refreshing drinks, plus a pool and spa for relaxing. The rooms and hotel have a distinctive design that suits travelers’ needs. The staff and owners are kind, polite, and always ready to help.
