We had a great family get-together here over Christmas a few years back. Spent some time getting drunk at the bowling alley, then took the steam train and a horse-drawn wagon up the mountain for more drinks in the cold. The rooms were basic, but we only used them to sleep.

We were a bit concerned about the language barrier since we're from England, but the lady spoke good English and made everything easier. The food was great, the service friendly, and we'd recommend stopping in if you're nearby.

The breakfast was delicious and had plenty of variety, especially for such a fair price. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and both our room and the rest of the hotel were clean and pleasant. My only reason for taking off a star is that the rooms could use some updating, particularly the tiny TV. Even so, we can highly recommend this cozy guesthouse.

We ate at the Italian restaurant inside the Gasthof zum Bären and were very pleased. The Italian food was excellent, and the service was exceptionally friendly. The decor doesn't quite look like an Italian restaurant, but that wasn't a drawback for us. Prices are great for what you get, and anyone who enjoys Italian food should feel at home here. Definitely worth a visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
