Hof Niebling

The two bedrooms and nicely finished bathroom were great, and upstairs there’s a lovely living area with plenty of space for the kids to play. The apartment in Mossbach is beautifully furnished. We had a really pleasant stay.

Hof Niebling was a great base for hiking in the Rhön Mountains, and once we’d arrived, my husband and I didn’t need the car. We stayed in the "Hedgehog Den," which was roomy for two and had what we needed. The heating kept it comfortably warm, and we slept really well on the good mattresses and bedding. The Schneeberg country inn is only a short walk away, and the food there is really good. There were a few things that brought the stay down for me: we could hear every footstep from the upstairs "Dovecote," the TV was an old tube model, and the bathroom could use a fan.

Fine for a weekend, but we’ll try somewhere else next time. The beds all had baby-sized pillows, and we could have used more kitchen utensils. The downstairs bedroom floor was freezing in winter, unlike the carpeted floor in the neighboring apartment. For a "baby center," we expected at least some toys or a small playroom, but couldn’t find either. Maybe it’s better in summer.

Everything went smoothly, and the landlords were very friendly. The price was excellent for what we got. It’s close to Wasserkuppe mountain and well placed in the middle of the Rhön region, so it’s an ideal starting point. Highly recommend.
