The hotel’s lovely surroundings and panoramic sauna made it a worthwhile stay. The staff were friendly and polite, and went out of their way to make our trip memorable.

The location is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, and the food is lovely. Breakfast was really good, while dinner was nice but had very few dessert choices. Most of the staff were friendly, though they seemed less welcoming toward foreigners. There’s a sauna and pool, but the pool water is very cold.

Breakfast was good, and the breakfast serving staff were good too. We were staying in the apartments, and had a very different experience in the restaurant: the head waiter was rude and unhelpful. My pork chop was raw in the middle, and when I raised it, I was told that it was English. On departure, we complained to the hotel director, Herr Weisenborn. He promised to email us back without delay, but three days later we’re still waiting.

For a quick overnight stay, the room was quite okay, with a nice bed and good Wi-Fi, even though the hotel is a bit dated. Breakfast was simple but fine. The dark-haired, middle-aged woman at reception when I checked in was super nice and friendly. Checking out was a different story. The blonde receptionist was unfriendly, talked on the phone while serving me, and demanded an extra €9 for breakfast even though my booking said it was included. She got grumpier when I wanted to pay by card. The hotel could easily have earned four stars, but that checkout spoiled the whole thing.

Mr. Minea at the hotel bar was the standout of the whole place. I’ve honestly never met staff who were so polite and classy.
