Augsburg Hotel Sonnenhof

Breakfast was lovely, and the hotel has a huge gym with plenty of weight machines. The cardio side is limited, though, with only four machines, and they were all taken when I was there. There are also a couple of EV charging spaces, but a Ferrari was parked in one.

The rooftop breakfast is well worth choosing. Our room felt brand new, very clean and spacious, with a clever layout, a terrace and a balcony. The bed was comfortable, and the minibar was free. It's close to the motorway, but the traffic noise is barely noticeable. The price was reasonable, and everything was in excellent shape.

The breakfast room on the fifth floor has a nice view, and I especially loved the omelet. The buffet covers sweet and savory options, from pancakes, eggs and cheese to ham. Rooms are roomy and clean, the staff are very friendly, and there's a large parking area out front. I also like being able to walk or run outdoors nearby, and the gym has top equipment, sanitizer and water. The free minibar, especially the Coke and water, was a nice touch. I've stayed more than once and would book here again when visiting Augsburg or the surrounding area. A few things could be better. The gym isn't open around the clock, even though guests have key cards. Early access would help, especially for women who may not want to run outdoors during winter. I didn't care for the scrambled eggs, which seemed processed to me. Once, not everything was ready at 6 a.m. I also missed toiletries such as body lotion. And despite being next to the motorway, you can hear cars at night since the rooms aren't soundproofed. Still, I'd recommend the hotel and may well return.

Breakfast had a good spread, with fresh bread, fruit and vegetables, plus omelettes made to order. The coffee was good and the staff friendly. Our room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the huge balcony looked over the parking area. Drinks in the minibar were free. Everything was perfect for us.
