Hotel Alte Redaktion Superior

The hotel was nice, but I wasn't keen on the restaurant.

Staff were great, friendly, and really helpful. Breakfast had a good variety and was very enjoyable, while the restaurant and bar felt relaxed. It's a great hotel in a cool little town, and I'd highly recommend it.

I spent a week here on business, working at a local company. The staff were so friendly and attentive, and the rooms were clean and well organized. The restaurant deserves a Michelin Star in my opinion. The flavors were amazing, and every detail of the service felt superior. I almost felt guilty receiving that kind of service, since I'm not a millionaire. There are so many other nice things I can't remember them all. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. My main issue was with my personal need for a cold, completely quiet room. Room number 33 didn't offer either. There was no AC, so I had to keep the windows open, which let in traffic noise and people partying late on the street. I was surprised by how many noisy people there were in Gavelsburg at 1am and 2am, with cars racing, motor bikes, and conversations I could hear from the street. Friday night was a nightmare for sleeping. I mentioned it to the staff on my second night. They offered to move me, but after settling in that would have been a hassle, and in Germany they won't move your things for you. The ear plugs they gave me worked about 80%. Still, it was annoying. I need all my faculties for work, and missing sleep means I can't give my best performance to my guest employer. I'm nervous about visiting in summer, with no AC and only the windows for ventilation, given the noise. I live somewhere cold and quiet, so travel isn't easy for me. I can put up with plenty of imperfections, but cold and quiet are my top needs. So, only 4 stars instead of 5, sorry.
