The food was very good, and the kitchen seemed competent. But for 85€ a night, the twin room felt overpriced. I’ve stayed in larger, more modern, better equipped rooms for less, in places with a comparable location. The bathroom was the worst part. It barely felt like a proper room, more like the plastic plumbing unit in a cheap dorm or camper van, and the smell was unbearable. At that price, I found it insulting. I won’t be back. If you do stay here, you might want to ask for a room with a normal bathroom for a better experience.

The beds were a real surprise for someone tall like me. They’re over 2 meters wide, and this is the first hotel I’ve found that offers that option. I also liked the fairytale theme in the rooms, and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had to shorten my stay because I was ill, and the hotel was fine with that. I came back later to finish my assignment.

We stayed for one night while on our pilgrimage to Marburg and left feeling refreshed for the next leg. The owner was very attentive and took time with his guests. It’s a traditional family-run place that’s clearly run very well, and the food was excellent. I’d recommend it to good friends.
