My husband and I keep coming back to this lovely guesthouse in the heart of Glückstadt. The owners are incredibly warm and friendly, and you can tell they’ve thought through every detail. It’s spotless, very central, and offers excellent quality for the price. We’d recommend it wholeheartedly.
I tried to book a room for June back in January, but couldn’t. The landlady said rooms are only assigned one week in advance.
I called to book a room and asked the staff member who picked up whether they spoke English. I was hooked..
The landlady was very friendly, and the rooms were really clean. We felt comfortable here again and would love to return!!!
Breakfast in the conservatory, looking out over the greenery, was wonderful, and the owner was friendly and attentive to her guests. The rooms have been beautifully renovated and modernized, with 1930s-style furnishings, and everything feels harmonious and in excellent condition. The shared rooms are well cared for and look just as I remember them from 1976-79, when I was stationed there. This is a former officers’ mess from 1936, lovingly restored. We felt extremely comfortable. Thank you so much!
