Sporthotel de Poort

We were there for one night with my family and didn't have time to use the pool or sauna. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were big, and the location was good. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good.

I stayed in room #109 from 05/09/24 to 06/09/24 for one night on behalf of my company. I don't know where to start with this review. At reception, three rooms had been reserved. Two of my colleagues are German, and I'm Portuguese and don't understand German, so I spoke in English and gave my identity details to help them find my reservation. The reception staff laughed in my face and made bad-taste jokes. It's unacceptable that reception couldn't resolve the problem quickly. They eventually gave me a clean room, which I can't complain about. But in the corridor, as shown in the photos, the ceiling was open and there were buckets on the floor. I also couldn't get internet access despite trying countless times, and our calls to reception went unanswered. There were little bugs in the bed that you had to kill, like the ones in the photos. What should you expect from a 4* hotel? I can't give it a 0 or -1, which would be my rating, so it should be called a 2* or 3* hotel instead.

The breakfast was good, and the waitress was very nice. But most tables were reserved for a soccer team, so the regular guests had to look around for whatever open tables were left on the side. For a four star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel, I would have expected an elevator or help with luggage, especially since we were on the 4th floor. There were only about 10 TV channels, and not one was even in English. The place is still nice, though it seems a little run down and was probably once a very nice hotel. We had a huge room and bathroom with a bathtub, which we loved, and the baby bed was ready when we arrived. We also liked being a little farther from other guests, since kids can get noisy sometimes.
