The food hit the spot after a long hike, and even the Currywurst mit Pommes came with homecut fries. We took a break beneath the trees in this classic biergarten. A lovely little respite, and a perfect taste of Frankonia.

Poor value for money. I paid 75 EUR/night at Behringer‘s for one night, the most expensive stop on my hiking trip, and the twin bed I booked through Booking.com turned out to be a single. The toilet was dirty, and the shower pressure was weak. When I unscrewed the shower head, I found a plastic piece restricting the water flow. The location is too remote to walk to Goßweinstein. It felt like the place was trying to cut costs at guests' expense, which seems unfair for a clearly not-cheap option marketed as a 3 star hotel. I’d only book here as a last resort.

We ate outside with one of my kids. The service was quick, friendly and efficient, and the asparagus was especially good. Everything was presented nicely. The road beside the hotel got loud now and then, but I’d still recommend it.

The staff were king and eager, and the food was good. We had dinner in the shady Biergarten, though the main road right beside it gets quite noisy when hordes of motorcyclists show off. That was a big downside, even if it isn't the owner's fault; without the noise, it would be a comfy spot. The Flammkuchen was great but very salty, and the Schnitzel could have been flatter and crispier.

The food was tasty, and the service was swift and friendly. We went for Sunday lunch, when it was quite busy, so it's worth calling ahead to reserve. The location is close to many sightseeing spots in the area. I'd come back when I'm nearby.
