The beds are really comfortable, and the rooms have what you need. I'm here for construction work and the prices are fantastic. Breakfast is well worth recommending, and the pub stays open in the evenings for people working long hours. The staff are wonderfully friendly, helpful, and provide top-notch service. I'd wholeheartedly recommend the hotel, and I'll be here for the next few weeks too.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, but the owner seemed unfriendly when we checked out. No greeting, goodbye, or question about how the stay went. I'd already seen him mentioned in some of the more negative reviews, where criticism, even when justified, was met with claims that people were in a bad mood. He'd do better to set a friendly example. A note: I made a mistake. We stayed at the Meister Bär Hotel in Marktredwitz, and I'll delete this review and post it there. We'd planned a hiking weekend and wanted breakfast plus a small spa area, and the hotel suited our needs. It all looked dated, and the rooms weren't particularly stylish, but they were clean. My sister's room cost €80 for one night and faced right onto the train station, so it was incredibly noisy. Breakfast was great, though coffee came only from a thermos; you had to pay extra for something like a cappuccino, which I'd never encountered before. It's a good idea to check whether the spa is open. They opened it for us, but it took half an hour. Some things in the area didn't work, though it was okay overall. The whirlpool wasn't much: basically two small bubble baths. It cost €3 per person for 12 minutes, with just one person able to fit at a time, and the water was rather lukewarm.

The hotel is showing its age, though for such a low price you can overlook quite a bit. We only stayed one night on the drive back from Croatia to northern Germany. Our room was large and clean, and the service was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was really good for €10, with enough for everyone to leave the table full.

I'd look for another room right away. There were cobwebs everywhere and spiders in nearly every corner, as if they'd been there a while, and the rooms were never properly cleaned. After I asked in writing, they did remove most of them, but missed some, including the ones in the bathroom. They only cleaned my room when I requested it. The people doing the cleaning seem to have no idea how to clean and no desire to do it.
