Hotel Italia Altstadthaus

We stopped in at the hotel café, but it wasn’t a great experience and didn’t feel worthy of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Maybe they were having an off day. The coffee was weak, and I couldn’t tell whether they used espresso or regular coffee in the cappuccino. There were no menus on the tables, so the waiter had to explain the offerings to each customer, and then many items had run out. I hope this wasn’t typical.

The central square location puts all the important historic sights nearby, and the rooms were very comfortable. What made me feel especially welcome was the really friendly, helpful staff and the tasty breakfast, especially the different kinds of delicious homemade cakes. I wish I could have stayed longer. I hope to return soon. It was an amazing experience. Grazie mille!

Reception was friendly and spoke at least DE/EN/PL/IT. The location is right in the city center, and our room for two was spacious. Breakfast was good too. For this price, I do think slippers, a bathrobe, and a complimentary bottle of water could be included.

I usually avoid leaving bad reviews, even when I’m unhappy, but I spent two nights without heating because they switched it off overnight to save money. When I complained, they were very rude and said I was lying. The room was in another building, and nobody showed me there, so I struggled to find it. Reception isn’t available after 8pm, and breakfast was poor. Polite treatment could have made all of this forgivable, but instead I was treated rudely.
