Niedersächsischer Hof

Getting into the parking garage takes a little care: go to reception first for the remote opener, since the garage machine asks for a debit card that doesn't work. The garage is in the building behind the hotel. Inside, my room had been newly renovated and equipped, and the whole place was very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. From the outside it looks like a typical old-fashioned German hotel, but the inside felt quite different. It's right in central Goslar and very recommendable.

The room was clean and a decent size, though its long, narrow shape looked a bit strange. The bathroom was cramped too, with the toilet right in front of the sink. I had to watch my head whenever I used it. Maybe that sort of layout is common in older hotels, and I’ll pay more attention when booking next time. There was poor ventilation, so the room smelled and we opened the windows. The bed squeaked whenever I moved and wasn't very comfortable. The hotel is beside the train station and just a short walk from the old town. The breakfast room was beautiful and elegant. Breakfast had lots of cold options, including fresh juice and vegetable and fruit salads. The made-to-order scrambled eggs came out dry and overcooked, though, and the ones in the warming pot had the same issue.

The staff were the friendliest I've ever met, and the rooms are beautiful. Even though the hotel is right across from the train station, it was very quiet in the evening. I can only speak for then, since I was away working all day. My company booked it for my work trip, and I felt lucky they did. I hope they choose this lovely hotel again if I have to return to Goslar for work.

We arrived at the last minute, but the staff still found us a beautiful room. They were so kind and full of helpful information, and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel room was lovely too. I'd love to come back another time.
