The room was great, and the old part of town isn't far away. Gotha is beautiful and well worth visiting. One thing to know: you can't see the castle from the hotel, so "Castle View" is just clipbait. Check-in ends at 6 pm, and if you arrive later, you have to go around back and call a number. A bit weird.

Most of us in my group of colleagues got very large rooms, but one person had a terrible, very noisy room. We also ran into several communication problems with staff, and it wasn't a language issue. One room had been booked incorrectly, yet they didn't help us resolve it. We were told cancelling another room wasn't possible, although it was, and we had to handle it ourselves through the booking website. In general, they kept saying nothing could be done and made it feel like everything was our fault. We found them really unfriendly and unhelpful. They didn't even ask how we were when we left, which should be a basic question at a hotel.

I've stayed here many times and come back whenever I'm in Gotha. It's right in the center, with parking available, and the staff are very polite. The rooms are really big and very clean; many have a cooking area, refrigerator, and water boiler. Breakfast is great too.
