We were very disappointed, and our vacation was ruined. At the restaurant, though, service was excellent, and the food was pleasant and delicious. Never again. The woman at reception was unfriendly and wouldn't give her name. She refused to help with a fairly simple problem or speak English, and wouldn't communicate through a phone translator either. We were told we had to speak German. Her words were, "kein Deutsch - kein buisness". It felt as if we were the first foreign tourists there, and very much like we were being rejected for being foreigners.

The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the weekend, which was a plus. The breakfast, though, gave the same dated impression as the hotel. Our room was in the basement. It was functional and adequate, but offered little comfort or sense of coziness. The exterior made a poor first impression too, with the building and parking lot looking very old and seemingly untouched by modernization for decades. We can't recommend the hotel as it stands. For the price, we expected much more, and the value feels completely unacceptable without a thorough renovation.

Breakfast had everything we needed, though the rolls were too crisp and a little hard. We mentioned it as we were leaving and hope it can be taken into account. The room was very clean and tidy, and everyone from reception and service to housekeeping was lovely. The building does look a bit dated from outside.

The restaurant food was good, and breakfast had a really wide selection. Everything felt clean and welcoming, with incredibly friendly people at reception and in the restaurant. We definitely recommend staying here.
