Hotel Gasthaus Zum Kellermann

The location is a big plus, close to Grafenau bus station, about a five-minute walk, with lots of cafés and restaurants nearby. My room was clean and comfortable, but the hallway had an unpleasant smell of old food. I thought the price was far too high, though I don’t know how many other places there are to stay in Grafenau for even one night.

We arrived by motorbike and were greeted warmly as soon as we pulled up. There’s secure parking for bikes, and the food is excellent. Eva, Manfred, and the staff were excellent as well.

The shower barely worked, and nothing in this “hotel” seemed up to date. The free Wi-Fi they advertise wasn’t available, and when we asked the owner for help, they were curt and wouldn’t assist us in connecting. Parking was such a hassle that we had to carry our luggage what felt like a mile from the “hotel parking.” After nine hours of travel, we stayed because we’d have lost our money otherwise, but we couldn’t sleep comfortably. This was a complete joke. Don’t waste your time or money, and don’t book here!

The location is central, and the croissants were tasty. But they were stingy with the service, heating, bedding, and bathroom amenities. They also weren’t friendly toward foreign guests.
